The Pearl City Express is a superfast express train route of the Southern Railway, a zone of the Indian Railways.

As per the Indian Railways numbering system, this train is numbered as 12693 in the downward direction, i.e. from Chennai Egmore to Tuticorin and 12694 in the upward direction, i.e. from Tuticorin to Chennai Egmore. The train covers a distance of 656 kilometres in less than 12 hours.
It stops at the largest cities of Tamil Nadu namely, Chennai, Tiruchirapalli and Madurai and at the largest towns of Chengalpattu, Villupuram and Dindigul.
Pearl City is another name of Tuticorin as the sea water of Bay of Bengal in this area is suited for Oysters resulting in cultivation of Pearls. This train is referred to as "Muthu Nagar Express (Muthu-Pearl and Nagar-City) in Tamil.
